Our Board of Deacons is committed to a ministry of caring, supporting and connecting with all members of PPC in both happy and challenging times. Deacons are ordained church members who assist the Pastor and the Parish Associate with the pastoral needs of the congregation. We have a team leadership approach in our Board of Deacons with four people serving as the Deacons Leadership Team (DLT.)
Some examples of what our Deacons are responsible for are: sending “sunshine” cards of support, preparing meals for those in need, transporting members to and from church when unable to drive, holding receptions following a funeral or memorial service, presenting the annual Earth Angel award to recognize a dedicated church member, hosting the New Member Brunch, delivering fresh flowers following worship to those in need of comfort, providing home Communion, and gifting a rosebud and a children’s book to new babies.

One member shares about the care she received from our Deacons and the PPC Family:
“Please know how much this church and our prayer group have meant to me after the death of my husband. I was pleasantly surprised and grateful for the way that cards, prayers, phone calls, and personal visits helped to soothe the feelings of loss. We often forget the power of human connection no matter how insignificant the gesture may seem to the sender. I’ll never forget the way your caring actions supported our family. God bless our fellowship.”
