As the spark ignited at Pentecost grew into a widespread movement of faith, resistance to the gospel began to grow too. One of the most zealous opponents of the gospel was a man named Saul, who sought to squash the spread of stories about Jesus. Yet rather than dismissing Saul as a hopeless opponent, God chose, called, and claimed him, turning his fervent opposition into even more passionate proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We’ll hear the story of God’s intervention and transformation of Saul’s life this Sunday in worship, as told in Acts 9:1-22.
One of the many things we learn from Saul, who later took the name Paul to better serve in mission, is that meeting Jesus Christ truly changes lives. This week consider,
How has knowing Jesus Christ changed you?
Or, if you are beginning a journey of faith, how do you see Christ starting to work in your life?
And, who might God be calling you to pray for—for God’s transformation of their lives?
Let us invite God to be at work more and more—in our lives and in the lives of those God brings to our hearts and minds today.
