Present with Joy

We are in a season of preparation and gatherings. More people are traveling from Thanksgiving through Christmas than any other time of the year. We can get caught up in the busyness and get lost in the preparations. We can be so distracted that we miss the opportunities to be fully present with the people we love and are preparing to enjoy time with. We may feel overlooked, not just overworked ourselves.

This Sunday we will be opening the Gift of Being Present with Joy as we celebrate the third Sunday of Advent. We will pause to reflect on the joyful reunion between two cousins, one old and the other young and unmarried, who are both pregnant with miracle children who will change their lives and the world.

I invite you to share their joy as we listen in and to look for ways to share the joy by being truly present with the people God has brought into your life…sharing their joys and challenges and rejoicing in the presence and goodness of God.
