Camp Whitman Report

By Judy Burgeson: Camp Whitman hosted a Clean Up day on Saturday. From around the area and the local Presbyteries, over 90 people came out to clean, paint, repair and otherwise help prepare to welcome campers for the Summer 2022 season.

Mark and Judy Burgeson spent the day in advance, Friday, painting the renovated cabins, kitchen cabinetry. We met another local resident who spent a few hours sprucing up the landscape around the Main Lodge. Faith and her husband live in Penn Yan, and they’ve both been active with Camp Whitman’s facility group for many years. Though Mark and I are like kids, we’ve only been helping out each year for maybe 4-5 years. There is always help needed about camp–it is Mission’s endeavor to our locally supported places to offer that help, as we’re able. Come join us!

Camp Whitman on Seneca Lake is owned and operated by the Presbytery of Geneva and operates in partnership with the Presbytery of Genesee Valley. The camp is situated a little over an hour south of Perinton, along the Western shore of Seneca Lake. The rolling hills, wooded, and open fields offered on this beautiful 117 acres of land is a great way to commune with God and nature.
